I am thrilled to join in the important work of the B3 Institute to promote bilingualism, biculturalism, and biliteracy across teaching, research, and service at UTRGV. The B3 initiative was very exciting when I applied to UTRGV 4 years ago, and I am very much looking forward to advancing this mission!

This is an exciting time to be a part of the B3 Institute. The Spring Spanish for Faculty courses are about to start, and we have a wonderful cohort of faculty from diverse college and departments involved in a Faculty Learning Community led by Dr. Ryan Bessett in collaboration with the Center for Teaching Excellence on translanguaging/bilingual pedagogy to get their courses designated as Spanish (E) or Bilingual (X).

We are currently working on updating our website by adding Affiliate Faculty, a blog, and resources, in collaboration with the UTRGV Library. We are also developing a process for faculty to designate their courses as Spanish (E) or Bilingual (X). This semester we will also be creating a B3 newsletter to keep our community apprised of news, programs, and developments, including highlighting B3 research and teaching on campus.

Check out our website for more updates.
